Welcome to the Eiteljorg Museum’s third annual Quest for the West Art Show and Sale. This popular invitation exhibition features 50 of the country’s outstanding artists noted for landscapes, wildlife, historical narratives, portraits, and still life compositions celebrating the history and culture of the American West.
The 2008 Quest for the West will open on Sept. 5 with a spectacular weekend of gala events for registered participants, including artist demonstrations, lectures and other programs, a preview reception, all leading up to Saturday evening’s electrifying sale reception and awards banquet.

Friday, September 5
Registered guests vote for Patrons’ Choice Award until 2:00 PM on Saturday
Ballot boxes located in Quest for the West gallery, near entrances
1- 4 PM          Quest gallery open to registered participants
5 - 8 PM         Preview reception, Quest for the West Art Show and Sale
                    Opening reception: Animal Magnetism: The Wildlife Art of Daniel Smith (2007 Quest Artist of Distinction)
 
    
Saturday, September 6
Registered guests vote for Patrons’ Choice Award until 2:00 PM on Saturday
Ballot boxes located in Quest for the West gallery, near entrances
10:30 AM-NOON Brunch and Gund lecture by Elizabeth Kennedy, Ph.D., “Artists’ Studios in Western Art Museums”
                       Announcement of Harrison Eiteljorg Purchase Award
    
NOON - 3 PM     Quest gallery open to registered participants
12:15-1:15 PM   Simultaneous artist demonstrations/silent auctions
                       Curt Mattson, sculpture; John Fawcett, painting
   
1:15-1:30 PM     Break [drinks only]
   
1:30-2:30 PM     Artist panel discussion: Curt Walters, Jay Moore, and Arturo Chávez on the art of landscape painting
   
5:00-6:30 PM     Reception and intent to purchase
   
6:30-7:30 PM     Draw and art sale
7:30 PM             Banquet and awards ceremony
   
Art not sold on September 6 may be purchased through the museum through October 5.
